Cha Meng Family Farms: Providing Salem, Oregon and surrounding towns with farm fresh flowers.

History of the Cha Meng Family Farms

Cha Meng Family Farms

The Cha-Meng Family Farm started in 2003 on a small two acre farm in Corbett, Oregon. We grew strawberries and flowers.

In late 2005, we moved our farm to Scappoose, Oregon, where the land was flatter, less icy, and less windy. There, our dahlias continued to grow beautifully. We also decided to focus more on growing flowers over produce.

In 2011, we added an additional farm based in Salem, Oregon. This made it a lot easier for us to provide our Salem customers with easy access to special orders that they needed to pick up on non-market days. It also made it easier for us to re-supply on busy weekends at market.

History of Farmers Markets

Cha Meng Family Farms

The first Farmers Market we started at was the Vancouver Farmers Market in 2004. At this time, the market was still in its early stages and only took up one street. Today, the market expands to two streets and is a favorite stop for locals and event venues. The downtown park and the Hilton makes the Vancouver Farmers Market a perfect partnering venue for other events that are going on.

In 2005, we expanded our flower business to the Salem Farmers Market in Salem, Oregon. The Salem Farmers Market quickly began to expand as the community became more supportive of local vendors. The market also adopted green practices, and encouraged recycling and proper disposal of waste.

In 2011, we found a new Farmers Market in Bend, Oregon that was still getting on its feet. They welcomed our flowers. The community was very supportive and welcoming. We are very excited to continue working with them in the future.
